Story of the little machine Sonderbar

Little book as an unusual giveaway to make children's eyes light up

Medebach. Medebach. Do you already know the story of the little machine Sonderbar? Probably not, because the first copies of the unique children's book have only just arrived from the printers. With this unique giveaway, the special mechanical engineering company Paul Köster GmbH from Medebach wants to make not only its customers happy, but also the little ones. With a story that matches the company and hand-painted illustrations, a lot of passion for detail has been put into this unusual project.
"What could be more beautiful than children's shining eyes?! After another turbulent year, we would like to give our customers and their families a special joy and bring some lightness into the serious daily work routine," reports Ann-Kathrin Huneck, Marketing Manager at Paul Köster GmbH and at the same time author of the story. Shortly after the idea was born, the first draft for the booklet's content was drawn up: little Paul takes the readers on an exciting adventure at his father's workplace, where he meets the funny mouse Theo and the little machine Sonderbar together with their friends.

The illustrator Eva Lindner from Murnau in Bavaria comes up with the matching pictures: "When Ms. Huneck told me about her idea, I was immediately thrilled. Normally I do drawings for publishers, design practices and architects. This project was a nice variety and I had a lot of fun giving the characters of the story a face."
After initial sketches in classic pencil, digital sketching then followed before coloring was done in the end. Always at the first place during each editing step: the children's fun. "We really tried to design every scene and illustration in such a way that there would be as much laughter as possible - from young and old, of course. I hope that we have been successful in this and that all readers have a lot of fun with the little books," adds Ann-Kathrin Huneck.
Of course, there is no need to buy a machine to get a book: At the reception of the company in Kolpingstraße 1 in Medebach, everyone can buy a book for 2€, the earnings will benefit TuS Medebach 1919 e.V., which will use the money for youth work: So that even more children's eyes can shine.
