Paul Köster GmbH supplies automated special machines worldwide
Medebach. Stagnating economic development and the widespread shortage of skilled workers are driving the automation of industry forward. Tasks that used to be carried out by employees are now being performed by state-of-the-art special- purpose machines. The changes in this area are currently also being felt by the globally active special machine manufacturer Paul Köster GmbH from Medebach. With solutions individually tailored to customer requirements, production facilities all over the world are now being equipped with systems from the small town in the Sauerland region. The possibilities that automation offers are impressive.
Automation from the automotive industry through to wood processing
From the processing, cleaning, assembly and leak testing of die-cast parts that are installed in electric cars and combustion engines to the machine production of fully assembled room doors and wooden windows - the large and unique production lines at Paul Köster GmbH now take over all manufacturing steps without any employee intervention. They are first developed and built in the production facility in Medebach before being transported to customers all over the world and put into operation there.
“For some years now, we have been placing increasing emphasis on flexibility and industry independence - we are currently benefiting from this corporate strategy. Although demand from the automotive industry is still there, many companies in the sector are struggling at the same time. In these cases, our second mainstay, the production of automated woodworking machines, gives us a certain degree of security,” reports Managing Director Christopher Köster.
Attractive employer with future-proof job profiles
Always at the cutting edge in daily work with the latest technologies, the implementation of individual projects that are characterized by ever new challenges in the production of special machines tailored to the customer, as well as entrepreneurial flexibility through an industry-independent positioning on the market - these are all good arguments for the Paul Köster company to also score as an attractive employer. “The development in the field of industrial automation in particular underlines the fact that special mechanical engineering is an industry that offers good future prospects for skilled workers and career starters in many professional fields through vocational training or a dual study program. Every project is unique, every machine is one of a kind, and the entire team works on it, develops ideas and finds innovative solutions. Special machines are needed in all branches of industry, which makes us less dependent on individual sectors and makes our daily work very varied,” explains Christopher Köster. The complex job profiles in which the Medebach-based company provides training offer good long-term career and development opportunities in one of the leading branches of industry in Germany.
